Origin
Roger Brandt, a physically challenged veteran and artist, is imbued with the mystical Well of Souls. As a result he has premonitions when ever someone is going to commit murder. He then lays down in a trance to allow the spiritual form of the entity known as The Shade to leave his physical body via ectoplasm. While in this state, the Shade is capable of many things, including flight, phasing, magic, and telepathy. He has fought along side Nightveil and the FemForce a number of times.
