HISTORY
Paul Patton is on assignment to report on Ace Poletti's gambling ship and take photographs. Ace Poletti Ace is thrown overboard by the steward, but Paul Patton sees the playboy fall into the ocean. Poletti is dead, but Patton doesn't say anything about the matter to Judge Hurd or the judge's daughter, Phyllis Hurd. Ace wanted to marry Phyllis, and attempted to get the judge to agree to the wedding. Instead, the judge has the steward kill Poletti.
When The Fox catches up to the judge, Hurd admits that he had Poletti killed. Hurd owed Ace a lot of money in gambling debts, and Poletti wanted to cash it in to marry Phyllis.
