HISTORY

Helen Day is roommates with Betty Stevens, Helen Day finds herself in a relationship with Mr. Van Wolff. After an interview with Ruth Ransom photographed by Paul Patton, Betty is shot and killed. Later, someone steals the pearl necklace of Mrs. Van Wolff. The Fox investigates the matter.

Mrs. Van Wolff's husband, Mike Van Wolff, is later discovered to have been in a relationship with Helen. The Van Wolffs conspired to have the pearls stolen for insurance money, giving the pearls to Betty for safe keeping. Mr. Van Wolff planned to give the pearls to Helen, yet Betty refused to return them. He then murdered Betty because she would not return the pearls. Van Wolff gave the pearls to Helen, who passed them along to Paul Patton by an anonymous letter.

Mrs. Van Wolff shoots her husband when she discovered his murder of Betty and the affair with Helen.
