HISTORY
Paul Patton is on assignment on Ace Poletti's gambling ship to meet Poletti and take photographs. Phyllis Hurd is in love with Ace Poletti. Her father, Judge Hurd, owes Ace money for the judge's gambling debts. Ace wants to marry Phyllis. The playboy attempts to call in the chips to force the judge to agree that the couple married. Instead of permitting his daughter to be married to Ace, the judge has Ace killed by a henchman.
The henchman throws Ace off the boat, but Paul Patton sees Ace fall into and dives in to attempt to rescue him. It is too late, and Ace is dead. The Fox roots out the judge as responsible for the murder.
NOTES
Ruth Ransom is not in this story. It seems that Phyllis Hurd might take her place as Paul Patton's love interest, but nothing develops between Paul and Phyllis. Ruth returns in the next issue and remains until Blue Ribbon Comics ceases publication.
