HISTORY
Mr. Wyngold, head of Mammoth Film Studios, contacts Detective Hy Speed when mysterious incidents begin to occur on the sets. These incidents cause costly delays. Hy brings along his police dog, Rang-a-Tang to investigate the matters.
Hy asks Wyngold about a "Boy Wonder" film director named Nawson Swelles as an upcoming film director. Speed talks to Swelles, who claims jealousy of other film employees makes him a target of the 'accidents'.
Tana Lurner is filming a scene for a western on set 21 when a gunshot is heard, causing the horse pulling Tana's wagon to go wild. Rang-a-Tang stops the horse, saving the film star.
