On a leisurely stroll along the beach, Inferno comes across a wounded secret agent. Despite the agent getting away from the ship he operated on, it was not unscathed. One of the enemy agents shot him. Knowing the likelihood of his approaching death, the agent tells Inferno to take a message to Virginia Ames.
Ms. Ames turns out to be another agent.

Inferno finds Virginia and relays the message concerning a dark lady. Agent Ames immediately deciphers the message as referring to the name of a ship. She remains wary of Inferno, who is considered an outlaw by law enforcement. She travels to the Dark Lady, where she is captured and chained to the freighter's anchor. As she is lowered in the water, Inferno rescues her and helps capture the enemy agents.
