Jon Cosmos was in the space program with Chris Kelly, and one of the first humans to pilot the Mercury capsules. On his second space trip, his capsule got lost and he was presumed dead. Instead, Jon was transported to planet Omega, a world orbiting the sun in the opposite side to earth. Omega was a savage world ruled by alien overlords, but Jon helped to free the planet. He fell in love with a native woman called Odyr and his real destiny wasn't known until recently.

Same as other characters of Big Bang Comics, Jon Cosmos is a homage character, very inspired in classic sci-fi pulp figures such as Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, John Carter and DC's Adam Strange.
