Harry L. Dinkle The World's Greatest Band Director, better known as Harry L. Dinkle is a major character in American comic strips Funky Winkerbean and Crankshaft by Tom Batiuk. He first appeared in Funky Winkerbean in 1973.
He is the current leader of the St. Spires Choir and the Bedside Manorisms and the former band director of the Westview High School Band.
