In an accident similar to that from the film The Fly, scientist Dr. Drew Thunder used himself in teleportation experiment, accidentally combining his DNA with that of rogue termites which had entered the capsule. He became Super Termite!

Created by Kevin Miller, Super Termite also seems to have a bulkier, more humanoid, almost cartoonish, form, but it is unknown if this is considered an alternate universe version of the character, or a form that can be attained via eating a particular type of wood.
