Character History

Stanis may be one of the three Grackleflints who attack Kevin Matchstick on the subway train.  The other two who attack Kevin are Emil and Lazlo, and we know that Piet is in the Styx Casino at the time, so the third subway attacker must be either Stanis or Radu.  If this was not Stanis, then he first appeared with Piet when the Umbra Sprite heard back from the subway trio, after which point the Umbra Sprite sent them to look for the Fisher King.
 

Stanis's first confirmed appearance is when he trails Edsel, then attacks her.  He lifts up the end of her car and puts a cinderblock underneath.  Edsel hits him with the (still normal) bat, and he shrugs it off.  He is about to spur her when Kevin intervenes.  Kevin kicks him high against a wall, but again Stanis shrugs off the physical punishment.  Kevin grabs him and Stanis flies him into the air.  Mirth then saps Stanis with an eldritch bolt, causing him (and Kevin) to fall.  The Umbra Sprite saves him by teleporting him home.  Emil later finds him and Lazlo in the Styx, and berates him for his stupidity.  The Umbra Sprite impresses upon them all the importance of finding the Fisher King, then summons the Marhault Ogre to combat Matchstick as they wait.
 

Stanis later shows up at the heroes' apartment, peeping into their window while flying outside.  Mirth manages to catch him with a magic lasso and beings him inside, where they interrogate him with the threat of water from the shower, and with Sean Knight's fear power.  Stanis finally caves in and tells them that the Umbra Sprite has been able to track them by searching for Mirth's signature green glow within the fairie world.  The heroes go out to discus this, and Stanis once again asks for the aid of his father's shade.  The Umbra Sprite shrinks him and sends him out of the apartment through the water pipes.  He comes out through a manhole and steals a VW bug.  Kevin and Mirth attempt to stop him, and he crashes into Kevin's apartment.  Stanis is killed, and all of Kevin's worldly possessions are destroyed.
 

Powers, Abilities, and Weaknesses

Stanis has all the standard powers and abilities of a Grackleflint, including somewhat enhanced strength and durability, and highly poisonous spurs on his elbows.  Water can cause them pain and even kill them. 

Each Grackleflint also has a unique, individual power.  Stanis's power is flight.  It is unknown how fast he could fly, or how much he could hold aloft, but he could seemingly easily carry at least one person along with him.
