Aiko was the field leader of the slayers stationed in Japan. She's supposed to be one of the top slayers and even took down an entire group of Kabuki demons with barely a scratch. Buffy gave her the task of tracking down Toru and his gang. Aiko was the slayer that Toru tested his plan on. Kumiko drained Aiko of her slayer powers before Toru killed her as an ordinary girl.
Toru then hung Aiko's body for Buffy to find and used Aiko's blood to write, "Welcome to Tokyo".
