Hernando lived in an apartment shared with the heroine, War Witch. Originally a duo, they were joined in their adventures by Horus, a human host to a Kheldian.
In a battle against the Nictus imbued villain, Requiem, Apex is left the sole survivor despite eventually defeating the tyrant.
Also has a sister named Sally who he called often. She moved to Paragon City to find a job, which became with Hero Corps in Hero Relations, passing out assignments,health care, that sorta thing.
