Creation

The character Britt Reid was split into two: the Britt Reid of the 30s and 40s (radio, film serials and comics) and the one of the 60s (TV series) is his nephew, the Kato of the first Britt Reid is Ikano Kato and Kato and the one of the second is Hayashi Kato, son of the first Kato.

Major Story Arcs

The nephew of the original Britt Reid found out about his identity when his uncle, father and brother went to visit the grave marker of their ancestor who was suppose to be the Lone Ranger, Dan Reid Sr. As a child the young Britt was fascinated by his uncle tales but as an adult he had little interest in becoming the Green Hornet. Britt Reid II is assisted by Ikano Kato's son, Hayashi. He marries secretary Lenore Case and they have a son: Daniel John Reid.

That all changed in 1968 when two of his friends were assassinated. One was a senator who was running for President the other was a Civil Rights activist. It was after these assassinations that Britt gave in and became the second Green Hornet.
