Creation

Originally created for the Japanese TV show Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger in 1992 known as Dora Cockatrice. When the show was adapted for a Western audience in the form of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season one, the character was renamed Chunky Chicken.

In Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger Dora Cockatrice was portrayed by Eiji Maruyama, Hideaki Kusuka, and Kazuhiko Kishino. In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Chunky Chicken was voiced by Robert Axelrod.

Chunky Chicken in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Chunky Chicken appeared in season one episode seven - Big Sisters - as the villain of the week. Kidnapping a child under the care of Kimberly Hart and Trini Kwan, planning on using the child to gain the Power Eggs. Chunky Chicken would eventually be defeated by the Power Rangers.
