Origin

After the events of Power Rangers Dino Charge, Heckyl found himself free of his evil counterpart Snide and made the Keeper of the Dark Energem under the guidance of his new mentor, Zenowing, the Silver Dino Charge Ranger. By sheer chance, Heckyl returned to his homeworld of Sentai-6 before its inevitable destruction, granted an unforeseen opportunity to seek redemption.

Charged with the task of mastering and safeguarding the Dark Energem in anticipation of Lord Arcanon’s arrival in this altered timeline, Heckyl was consumed with fear at the thought of losing his homeworld and succumbing to the same darkness that once defined Snide. Desperate to avoid such a fate, Heckyl, drawing on his knowledge of magic and Zenowing’s Morpher, forged a Morpher — one that could harness the immense power of the Dark Energem.

With Lord Arcanon’s arrival on Sentai-6, Heckyl Heckyl sought out Zenowing for counsel. Displeased with his apprentice’s decision to wield the Dark Energem, Zenowing attempted to dissuade him, only to be imprisoned by Heckyl, who transformed into the Dark Ranger.

Empowered by the Dark Energem, Heckyl confronted his arch-nemesis in a final showdown. With overwhelming might, he vanquished his long-time adversary, tapping into the Energem’s formidable power. However, despite his victory, Heckyl began to falter, struggling against the malevolent force that threatened to consume him from within. Unable to retain control over the Energem’s dark influence, Zenowing arrived just in time to absorb the remaining energy, sacrificing himself to save his troubled apprentice. In his final act, Zenowing perished, allowing Heckyl to finally embrace the hero he had always been destined to become.

Both Heckyl and Snide make appearances in Power Rangers: Dino Charge and Power Rangers: Super Dino Charge as main antagonists of those seasons. Unlike many villains that fought against the Power Rangers, Heckyl and Snide are one in the same. Constantly fighting each other as to who is in control.

Snide

Dark Ranger makes an appearance as his Snide persona in 2017 mobile game. Snide is an epic attack type leader and a common type assist character. Snide became a playable character on March 6th, 2017.

Game Bio: A space outlaw and a destroyer of galaxies, Snide is powerful, proficient, and capable of keeping a cool head during battle.

Heckyl

Game Bio: When Heckyl first came in contact with the Dark Energem, he was corrupted, bent on destroying the Dino Charge Rangers along with his evil alter ego Snide. Once separate from Snide, Heckyl redeemed himself. He was named the Keeper of the Dark Energem and learned to harness it's powers, becoming the Dark Ranger.
