Master Estala Maru lived during the High Republic Era in Star Wars. He served as the second in command to Master Avar Kriss on the Starlight Beacon, in the Outer Rim. His role was to liaison with Jedi and republic officials who were conducting operations in the Outer Rim.
In the High Republic comics, he provides vital information to then padawan Keeve Trennis and her Master Sskeer about an alien swarm ravaging a planet. Later he is seen leading the defense of Starlight Beacon from a Drengir infestation.
