Floyd is the hip bass player for the Electric Mayhem. A vocal member of the band, he is currently dating Janice, who plays lead guitar. Floyd is shown directing sarcastic remarks to other Muppet Show characters, most notably Miss Piggy.
In addition to his witty rejoinders, Floyd has been shown to have some influence over his fellow band mate, Animal; sometimes going so far as acting as Animal's keeper.
His original look and his last name are nods to The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".
