The child, Grogu, is a 50 year old infant of Yoda's species that the empire was trying to get, so that the remnants of the Empire could try and either make Snoke's clones or Palpatine's clone. However before the empire could do that the Mandalorian Din Djarin saved Grogu and traveled the galaxy to try and find Jedi to train Grogu.
