Origin

Issus is the goddess of Barsoom. She is worshipped by the Therns, priests that consist out of White Martians. Issus, however, appears to be a Black Martian. Her son was her High Priest, her granddaughter is Linea. In reality, she is nothing more than an very, very old black Martian. Through complicated means she essentialy controlled the entirety of Martian religion. Because of her status she was worshipped by the First Born and the Therns. She would eventually meet her end at the hands of her own followers, being literally torn apart by them.
