Jaster Mereel was once thought to have been an alias, or even the real name of Boba Fett, after Attack of the Clones however, the history established in early expanded universe history of Boba Fett was proven false. The official explanation is that Boba Fett never did anything to discourage the rumor that he and Mereel were one in the same, since it gave further mystery to Fett's past and Mereel was a feared and respected Mandalorian who had done much for the Fett family, especially Boba's father Jango. Jaster Mereel himself finally appeared in the comic book series Star Wars Jango Fett Open Seasons, and was killed by the Mandalorian Death Watch.
