Blood Ties comic

Mavado first appears ambushing Kotal Ketz's army with his Red Dragon army. Later, he's seen watching Kotal Kahn with Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage. He then discovers that the Black Dragon has some valuable hostages (Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs), and changes the objectives.

He then finds and ambushes the Black Dragon crew, which happens to be accompanied by Erron Black, and to hold Cassie and Jacqui as hostages. A fight between both factions ensues, with Mavado fighting Kano. Even though Kano tries to tease Mavado with the recent death of a close companion of his, Hsu Hao, Mavado manages to subdue Kano, which makes him flee. Erron Black, who has being left behind, is then severely wounded by Mavado and left to die. Mavado then turns his attention to the girls, who put up a fight. Eventually, Jacqui immobilizes Mavado, and Cassie seizes the opportunity to break one of his legs. She then finishes him, by cutting open his chest. However, the duo is subdued by the remaining Red Dragons and are held hostage.

Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage, who were accompanied by Kotal Kahn's close allies - Reptile and D'vorah - discover Mavado's lifeless body, alongside a barely alive Erron Black, who manages to tell what happened in that moment and what happened to the girls.
