Reghar was an orc that was, originally, loosely affiliated with the Horde, as Thrall had made slavery illegal within the organization. Instead, Reghar operated as a part of the Crimson Ring, an underground gladiator circuit. When his prize fighter, Bloodeye Redfist, was murdered, he found amnesiac Lo'Gosh and enslaved him. The rest of the trio consisted of night elf druid Broll Bearmantle and blood elf teen Valeera Sanguinar. The three of them later escape thanks to the help of Hamuul Runetotem, but Rehgar is not trouble. He had grown tired of the Crimson Ring, and then retired.

Rehgar later became a trusted advisor of Thrall, supporting cooperation with the Alliance, and had an adversarial relationship with Garrosh Hellscream, who would have rather fought them for dominance. They both joined their Warchief in a summit with the Alliance at Theramore. Rehgar later joined the New Council of Tirisfal, lending his magic to empower Med'an and fighting the Twilight's Hammer Cult.
