Brynden is Hoster Tully's younger brother. His title "Blackfish" started out as a insult given to him by his family for refusing to marrying a woman they had chosen for him. Rather than being offended, Brynden made the appellation his own and even adopted a black fish as his personal sigil. Veteran of many conflicts, Brynden serves as adviser and captain to King Robb Stark and invaluable asset to his forces.
