Carmichael is highly intelligent gold fish, who is determined to protect the timeline, even it means destroying it and killing as many innocent people as he needs.

During The Boy's time working for Temps Aetermalis, Carmichael was his overseer, using Five's DNA for other soldiers, while also using cruel tactics to train the old man in a young boy's body.

After Number Five left, Carmichael was bitter of his treason, and tried his hand at villainy going after The Rumor and Number Five. However Number Five ended up destroying his metallic body, before eating the little fish to remind him he was just a fish and easily swallowed.

Umbrella Academy (Netflix Series)

Carmichael's role is replaced with an original character, The Handler. Carmichael now is a member of the board of directors for the Temps Commission instead. Carmichael would go head to head with The Handler. The Handler managed to stop Carmichael by getting Number Five to interrupt a meeting. She then put Carmichael into a fish bowl and kept him in her office. Carmichael used the rocks in the fishbowl to write a warning message to Lila. The Handler would eventually eat him whole.

The reason why his role is greatly diminished is due to budget restraints, and not being able to have a robotic fish man be the show's main villain. He was voiced by Robin Atkin Downes and physically played by Courtenay Stevens.
