The war-enthralled General Lunace, who bears a pointed resemblance to Napoleon, leads the Machovian army in its war with the Goyimians. Lunace hears that Lord Gaylord has created an ultimate weapon on Bingbangboom and fears that it could destroy the Machovian empire.

He sends Sgt. Chesterbarrel and his squad of new recruits, including Moonshadow, Ira, Horntoad, and Rigarollo to destroy the weapon. Unknown to them there is no weapon, and Gaylord is using it to create peace between the empires, not war. The squad ignores their orders after discovering Gaylord's intent, and Chesterbarrel leaves the army. Ira, Moonshadow, Horntoad, and Rigarollo move on and are captured on the planet Tsuris, where they become prisoners of war under Darkmeister Ebann. They escape, killing Ebann, and are seen as heroes to the Machovians.

Lunace gives them the Medal of Malice and a big fete to celebrate their (unintended) heroism.
