In "Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere", having grown maniacal in its exile, Islington hires assassins to murder a noble family of "openers" from London Below with the intention of forcing a lone survivor to create a door back to heaven for the angel. That one survivor, the Lady Door, turns the tables by instead creating a portal to someplace else, possibly space, and Islington is sucked into it.
