Kenny was a deputy in Annville, Texas. His superior officer was Sheriff Root, a hard, unlikable man who was feared by nearly everyone in the town, and commanded no love from his subordinates.

When a church in Annville exploded, killing nearly an entire parish, Kenny thought it might be a matter for the FBI - terrorists, perhaps. Root, however, figured it was "Martian niggers," and insisted that they needed no help.

Root was wrong.

The church's reverend, Jesse Custer survived, with a voice that could not be disobeyed. And following Custer was an unstoppable, unkillable man from the past, the Saint Of Killers.

Kenny, along with nearly all of Root's men, was killed by the Saint.
