Originally a child from the slum areas of Brixton, London, she grew to become a minor criminal. Through what is possibly luck or misfortunes, Lucia had grown up next door to Martin Chefwick, who had grown up to become a the super-thief The Mock Turtle and utterly infatuated with her. Manipulating her childhood friend acquaintance, she rose in power enough to challenge crimelord Clever Dick to the point of defeat. However, Dick himself was to manipulate the Turtle to do hid bidding against the Red Queen and her henchmen. Enraged, she used the Chessmen armor, which she had previously tricked Chefwick to upgrade, to kill him. The new Chessmen chased him all around the world to Astro City's Kiefer Square.
