Origin

The most feared pirate on her home world, Bloody Ann Preston was betrayed by the man she loved, Joseph Meauchand, nearly to her death. Though she survived his ambush and killed him for his betrayal, she forever lost the trusting part of herself that had loved him. Sometime thereafter she stumbled across the House of Mystery.

Creation

Ann was created by Lilah Sturges and Luca Rossi. She made her first appearance in House of Mystery #1.

Major Story Arcs

House of Mystery

Finding herself to be one of the few who is unable to leave the House, Ann becomes the bouncer of the bar there, often acting in defence of the House or its patrons. She accompanies Fig and Harry into the basement of the House in the hunt for a way out, and helps them battle the Bete Noir. Later, she begins a relationship with regular patron Mr Overhill, who is secretly a dragon, though they part ways when Mr Overhill begins eating people again. She accompanies the House through various changes of management and location. When the House is transported away by the Conception she decides to try to leave it behind and make a new life with Poet. They become the most feared pirates of her homeworld, until after about seven years when she catches him cheating on her and murders him.

Powers and Abilities

Ann has no known superhuman powers or abilities. She is a very good fighter, and is particularly skilled with the sword. She is an excellent leader and a ruthless pirate captain.

Weapons and Equipment

Ann always carries a sword. She occasionally wields several pistols.
