Noah was once a part of the Gotham Mob. He had a special technique of electricity and electrodes that would create an inferno. Noah was dating a reporter name Alicia Parker; she wrote a book about the mob that became a number one seller. While Alicia was promoting her book on the nationally syndicated Larry Prince Show she accidentally dropped Noah's name. Immediately afterwards Noah was blackballed. The mob had invested money in the construction of a nuclear power plant. However, the environmental movement stopped the nuclear plant from ever being built. In order to get back it's investment, the mob had the unfinished plant destroyed. They had Noah plant the explosives but unbeknownst to Noah the mob had the building destroyed while Noah was in the process of planting his explosives. Noah's body was never found among the rubble. As his new identity Arclight, he got his revenge on Alicia by killing her.
