A local criminal and owner of Santa Atalaya, the hometown of Maria Mendoza, Armando Guitez was an evil man who doesn't like when people opposed him. When the father of Maria opposed to his tyrany, Guitez killed him.

Guitez was also interested in the spirits dwelling in the nearby ruins to Santa Atalaya. The demons were trapped inside effigies and runes. When Maria run away towards the ruins, she broke some effigies and the spirits awake. The demons felt themselves compelled with the evil of Guitez' soul and trying to posses him. However the will of Guitez was to strong and subdue the demon's power into himself. Attracted to the dark powers by his new abilities, the possesed Guitez followed the power to the Church of Eternal Empowerment in Los Angeles, but it was followed by Maria, now transformed in Wonder Woman. She stopped him above the sky in Los Angeles and impaled him in the church main tower, apparentely killed him.
