Origin

Black Mist started off as an Irish vigilante, who after a battle was paralyzed. She was later imprisoned because of the country's laws against vigilantes. However once she got out, she gave herself an experimental surgery to get her the ability to walk back again. She then saved a man who'd change her whole life, Phantom-One.

Major Story Arc

Black Mist was once again an active superhero, with her past unknown to the public or even Batman, who suggested her to be a possible recruit to Batman Inc. During one of Black Mist's murder investigations, Knight was the one trying to bring her into the team, since the two heroes got along and Knight wished to no longer be the only woman on the team.

While Black Mist at first said no, she was thrown into the chaos of the team when constant assassination attempts took place. At first it seemed as if she was starting to open up to joining, but then it was revealed that the assassins leader was Phantom One, and the entire time Black Mist was with the team, she was just spying on them. It was also revealed that the murder she was originally looking into, was actually her own victim.
