When Blazerr applied to be a member of the Legion of Super Heroes, he demonstrated his blue flame blasts for XS. However Impulse mistook Blazerr for Cobalt Blue and assumed he was attacking XS. Impulse tried to "save" his cousin and attacked Blazerr, only the intervention of XS and the Legion kept Impulse from seriously injuring Blazerr.
Blazerr never was inducted as Legion member.
