The character of Bridgette Crosby was created by Jeph Loe and Duncan Rouleau for the story arc "Critical Condition".
Saving Superman
As Superman was slowly dying, Professor Bridgett Crosby worked together with Dr. Sarah Charles and Dr. Kitty Faulkner to find a cure for him. She shrunk down Steel, Supergirl and Superboy to microscopic size in order to go inside the man of steel, find the cancer tumor and cut it out before it was too late.

Smallville (TV Series; 2001 - 2011)
Dr. Bridgette Crosby appeared in the fourth season of the tv series "Smallville" and was played by Margot Kidder.
She was introduced as an assistant of Dr. Virgil Swann and a member of Veritas, a society who looked to the skies for coming life, most especially "The Traveler".
Bridgette knew the truth about Clark Kent, his heritage and his powers as Dr. Swann told her. As Clark was captured by Jor-El and became a mindless drone, Crosby confronted Martha Kent and convinced her to let her help, but couldn't do much. She gave Martha a chunk of Black Kryptonite to free her son from Jor-El, which she does.
A few months later, Crosby came into the possession of the Water Stone and disappeared with it entirely.
Some times later, she was found by Jason Teague who killed her to get the Water Stone. Jason planted her body, half buried, in the ground, where she was found by Lex Luthor.
