Valerie Lewton was about to be killed by a sadistic murderer with a taste for young girls when she was saved by Catwoman. Valerie tried to become Catwoman's sidekick but was rejected. Later she used her money to get cybernetic implants to give herself superhuman powers to kill Catwoman and take her place. Calling herself Carnivora, Valerie committed murders implicating Catwoman as the culprit. With Oracle's help, Catwoman was able to lure Carnivora into a trap where a magnetic field would disrupt her implants and end her killing spree.
