Krigstein is supposed to be a Jack Kirby Pastique, as a creator of The Americans, a merciless parody of The Avengers, and he also share his surname with a beloved comic book artist Bernard Krigstein. It is implied that without funding from the government he would end up to become a writer, but instead, the USA presidents made him leader of a project to create post-humans supersoldiers during the Cold War.

He turned a new leaf at the end of his initial story. Becoming a sort of I.T. specialist for The Authority who put his tinkering genius to use under their purview. Until he was cast out by the G7's replacement team after he tried to depose them.
