Franklin Stern was the owner and publisher of the Daily Planet. He's a longtime friend of Perry White and dated the sister of Ron Troupe.

Franklin Stern appears in one episode "The House of Luthor" in season one of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Perry White went to Franklin Stern to ask for help rebuilding Daily Planet, after Lex Luthor bought it and destroyed it.

Smallville (TV series)

Franklin Stern only appeared in the episode 9x19 "Charade" and was the temporary editor in chief of the Daily Planet. After some trouble at an event, he fired both, Lois Lane and Clark Kent. After Perry White talked to him, he re-hire Lois and Clark.

He wasn't seen on-screen after the episode "Charade" but was mentioned a few times during Smallville: Season Eleven.
