Gazook is a magical imp similar to Mr. Mxyzptlk who would manipulate a young Yellow Peri into becoming a witch to use her magic to fight Superman back when he was Superboy. After his plans failed he'd attempt to kill Yellow Peri by setting her home on fire, but would be saved by Superboy, and Gazook would be defeated.

Gazook appeared in Superboy (1988) in the episode Superboy #214 - Yellow Peri’s Spell of Doom where Gazook was no longer an imp but instead a demonic doll that would grant Yellow Peri her magic powers
