Gollo is an alien runaway from the planet Zar who arrived on Earth where he befriended Johnny Miles. The two had a bond but since Johnny was a runaway as well, Superman returned him to his home.

Gollo then used his abilities to travel throughout Metropolis searching for Johnny Miles using a variety of disguises. Superman learns of this connection but when he learns Gollo is also a runaway he is returned to his native planet.
