The Gombezis were created by mad scientist Dr. Togg. They are the genetically combined merging of two different animals. While the combining of a dog and a bird was the most common combination, Dr. Togg used other animals, such as monkeys and lizards. The Gombezis have a limited intelligence, and can understand English. They follow commands, and can speak, though their vocabulary usually only consists of “Gombezi” and “attack."
 
Dr. Togg sent the Gombezis out to rob on his behalf. The Gombezis faced both the first and the third Hourman. After Dr. Togg’s surrender, the third Hourman stored the Gombezis outside the timestream, where he cared for them. The fate of the Gombezis after the third Hourman’s death has yet to be revealed.
