Similar to Donna Troy, Ronno was created by accident this time by an editing mistake. First introduced as "Manno" in early Wonder Woman stories to flashbacks to Diana's childhood. During the impossible tales, where Wonder Woman would interact with her young selves so would her love interest Merman, that with Merboy who would be a love interest for Wonder Girl.
However incidentally one of the editor's notes refers to Merboy as being Merman's brother, not his younger self which would later be explained as Merboy being a separate character named Ronno.
Although it should be noted whenever this time period or Merboy and or Merman are reference, they are said to be the same person again.
