Mermor
Mermor is an ally of Aquaman. An aquatic alien from the planet Venus, Mermor was part of the losing side in a civil war. He came to Earth and befriended Aquaman ... right before they were both captured by the new rulers of Venus.

First issue:
Aquaman, Aqualad and various aquatic allies soon escaped and adapted to the oceans of Venus. They helped Mermor and his faction win the war, earning a transportation ride back to Earth.
A twist in the story was that due to the lesser gravity of Venus, Aquaman and Aqualad (adapted to enviromens with larger gravity) effectively gained enhanced strength. On the land surface of Venus their strength-level was described as close to that of Superman.
