Origin

Mick Gurk was just an ordinary high school student in Chicago when while at a school Halloween party a very studious Mxyzptlk showed up.  This was the first time Mxyzptlk had left his dimension although he had met with Superman several times in the "regular" dimension.  While causeing many problems at the Halloween party for his studies Mxyzptlk runs into Robin, Superboy and Impulse who were the beginnings of the group Young Justice.  Superboy chastises Mxyzptlk who swears he will never cause trouble.  This destroys the current time-line and the Young Justice team is forced to convince Mxyzptlk to become the Mxyzptlk from his past.  They decide to show Mxyzptlk some old Three Stooges films.  Mick Gurk gets them and shows them the film but Mxzptlk don't even smile until he sees how Mick Gurk is dressed.  The very look of Mick Gurk causes Mxzptlk to devote his life to mayhem.  So Mick Gurk by his very look saves the world.  On a side note Mick Gurk was dressed very similar to Mxzptlk.  Purple derby hat and all.
