Very little is known about Modem's origin. As a young man he became involved in hacking, at which he excelled. After some time in prison for his exploits he was coerced into joining the Suicide Squad.
Creation
Modem was created by Keith Giffen and Paco Medina. He made his first appearance in Suicide Squad #2.
Major Story Arcs
Suicide Squad
Modem is forced to join the Suicide Squad despite his strenuous objections. He works behind the scenes, operating the computer and communications systems and hacking into technological systems as required for the missions. He is briefly the target of Deadshot, but only as a means of getting Deadshot's attention. He detects a hacker in their systems, but is killed by Digital Djinn before he can fully uncover the nature of the infiltration.

Modem has no known superhuman powers or abilities. He is a skilled hacker.
