Mother Soul is Rūh Al Ghul, mother of Ra's al Ghul and grandmother of Talia al Ghul who first appeared in Robin #1 - Versus the World. Although she had been previously referenced in Batman comics due to her relation to her son.
Major Story Arcs
Mother Soul and her group of assassins, The Lazarus League would hold a competition, The Lazarus Tournament of the best fighters of the DC universe, inviting, Damian Wayne, Flatline, Rose Wilson, Connor Hawke, Respawn, Lady Vic and others to fight for the title of best fighter. The contest had occasional issues, with Rose and Connor both being heroes, neither of whom were willing to kill even when they won. Rūh would continue to stay behind the scenes, monitoring the fights.
It was later be revealed that Mother Soul had a fling with Lord Death Man, who would have his sidekick competing in the contest, Flatline. Rūh was deemed a liar, with the intention of trying to recruit some of the greatest fighters for her cause, but she helped her new lover try to kill her own great grandson. Although he would fail, Mother Soul showed no remorse for trying to kill her family and didn't even care that her son was recently killed by a fake Deathstroke.
