The Pangaean is a primordial being of sentient bacteria and micro-organisms who has existed since the creation of the Earth itself when the continents were a super-continent of Pangaea. Tom Strong with his fiancé Dhalua Strong were exploring the past through time travel of Dr. Parallax to explore Earth at its most earliest and inhospitable to fight off the Panagaean as it set to consume the couple as food before adapting and absorbing their cells structures and learning human language to develop an internalized hatred for humanity in the future. Having its microorganisms tainted to the clothes of the couple on their return to their original time would Tom Strong and his family battle its offspring as it assimilated to its desire to cannibalize humanity before being sent to its original time to be assimilated with its parent.

Much later, Tom Strong would once more battle the Pangaean in a time-travel related trap set by Ingrid Weiss to elevate her schemes to have the Third Reich win World War 2. In Tom Strong's distractions in the earliest past, Ingrid bargained the Pangaean to battle Tom Strong as a distraction but the Pangaean set to eliminate Tom Strong to steal the time machine in efforts to eliminate the first humans evolved from Pangaea to render them extinct with itself its supreme being sickened on the evils of humanity. The effort nearly came to hindsight until a meteor shower descended to the Earth incinerating the towering villain in Tom Strong's latter escape to return to his proper time.
