Rena is one half of an ancient martial arts demon named Ravanahatha (the other half is Izak Orato). She posed as an, until then unknown, aunt of Dinah Drake named Rena. Its secret plan was to lure Black Canary into revealing a powerful technique taught to her by her mother called the Five Heavens Palm. Leading a cult of ninjas, it eventually captured Black Canary and Vixen and pit them in a fight to the death against scores of ninjas trained by Greyeyes.
