Ron Probson was a Liutenant in Gotham City's Major Crimes Unit, picked for the squad by James Gordon himself. During the course of the series, he had a stressful relationship with his commanding officer Maggie Sawyer, as he felt pushed back by being the night shift commander.

Ultimately following the mayor's death at the hands of the Joker and his sniper rifle, Probson calls in Batman who saves him promptly from being shot by the Joker, scarring him causing him to begin smoking from stress. He eventually arrests Joker, when he show sup at the the police station,arresting and then beating the villain in an effort to learn the location of his bomb.However, Joker escapes killing Probson, but is shortly after shot by Maggie.
