History

In December of 1954, Katrina Kristin was part of a United Nations expedition to the Himalayas. Seperated from the others by the collapse of an ice bridge, she was saved by an Abominable Snowman with whom she subsequently had an affair. She died nine months later giving birth to her albino son, Klaus. Raised by Katrina's sister, Klaus became an three Olympic medal winning skier.

At some point Kristin discovered he had the ability to become an icy figure called The Snowman who "radiates cold," causing any nearby person or object to become frozen solid. Being forced to live in cold climates, Klaus must travel eight months out of the year, which eats all his money. So, because he has no real wealth of his own, Snowman must use his powers to acquire it by robbing.

After the Snowman robbed some stores in Gotham, Batman investigates and discovered the connection to Kristin. After a fatal confrontation, the Snowman is eventually reunited with his Yeti father.
