Origin

Somar-Le and her parents were at the market on Xudar when Starro attacked and mind controlled the population of the Xudarian city. Everything went black but when Somar-Le woken up, John Stewart and his Green Lantern Corps had defeated Starro, but Somar-Le's horror wasn't over. The Green Lanterns and Xudarians were trapped by Larfleeze. The Green Lanterns freed the Xudarians and returned home.

Somar-Le's parents did not survive the attack, and although she was saddened, she never lost her will to live.

Sometime later, Somar-Le became a Green Lantern like the group that saved her as a younger child. She became friends with the John Stewart and Kilowog. She faced villains like Evil Star and other Lantern armies.

Sixty years later, Somar-Le still has her Ring and she has two grandchildren is a happily married. She takes her ring out for flights above the statues of her and her predecessors.

Creation

Somar-Le was created by Robert Venditti and V Ken Marion for their series Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corps. In issue #13, entitled Heroes. Somar-Le's story is expanding on in the form of her telling her grandchildren about her life in a bedtime story.
